R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company (RJRT), an operating company of Reynolds American Inc., is the second-largest tobacco company in the United States. The company manufactures and markets tobacco products for adult tobacco consumers.

R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company was founded in 1875 in the town of Winston, N.C, now known as Winston-Salem, where the company is still headquartered today. In 2017, Reynolds American Inc. and its affiliates became independent U.S. subsidiaries of the global British American Tobacco Group (BAT), headquartered in London, UK.

R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company believes adult tobacco consumers deserve to understand their options and to have access to non-combustible tobacco products that may reduce harm. RJRT markets Camel Snus, a modern, smoke-free tobacco product that comes in a small, convenient pouch. The company also distributes Eclipse, a product that primarily heats rather than burning tobacco.

RJRT’s largest plant – the Reynolds Operations Center (ROC), an approximately 2 million-square-foot facility constructed in 1986 – is located in the town of Tobaccoville, near Winston-Salem.
