Youth Tobacco Prevention

Taking an Active Role

R.J. Reynolds has been very active in supporting youth tobacco prevention programs over the years. For example, the company has provided significant financial resources to the Boy Scouts of America to help them enhance their youth tobacco prevention efforts, which reach more than 1 million Scouts each year.

In addition, R.J. Reynolds continues to support the Coalition for Responsible Tobacco Retailing, the sponsors of the national We Card program. The We Card program uses both instructor-led and online courses to train retailers and their staffs to comply with minimum-age laws for tobacco purchases. We Card also provides in-store materials that support compliance.

You can learn more at the Transforming Tobacco section of the Reynolds American Inc. website about R.J. Reynolds’ approach to youth tobacco prevention.
